VFMA MEMBERSHIP

Current News: The new single registration health permit legislation goes before parliament in January next year, and if passed, will be implemented from July 2011. This will mean considerable savings in administration and costs to stallholders.  Some councils have voluntarily begun to implement the system - here are the current details of the various councils' current position on registration.

MEMBERSHIP

As of 1 September 2010, member markets collect a market day levy from stallholders on behalf of the VFMA, based on the following fee structure:

 $5 per stallholder in metropolitan markets;

 $4 in interface markets;

 $3 in regional markets.

(click here to see how each market is are categorised as metro, interface and regional)

In many cases, this fee is collected from stallholders along with site fees on each market day. In addition, each stallholder pays an annual $5 fee for membership.
