Why join the VFMA?

Individual stallholders, representatives of famers’ market management committees and market managers are encouraged to join the VFMA and support your Farmers’ Market Association.

With your support we can ensure the rapidly developing farmers’ market movement continues to grow in a sustainable manner with customers able to rely on the authenticity of Victorian farmers’ markets accredited under the VFMA guidelines.

What are the benefits of joining the VFMA?

Apart from supporting the VFMA and helping the farmers’ market movement prosper across Victoria, by joining the VFMA you will be entitled to:

• Support and advice from the VFMA Association

• Have your farmers’ market or business promoted by the VFMA (the media frequently contact the VFMA about information about authentic farmers’ markets and producers)

• Have your own page on the VFMA website

• Receive quarterly VFMA newsletter

• Be eligible to participate in VFMA promotional activities such as the Royal Melbourne Show

• Attend VFMA networking and business development activities 

• Benefit from the VFMA bulk buying and supplier schemes

• Eligible to vote at the VFMA AGM

• Discounts to attend VFMA events, such as the National Farmers’
  Markets Conference in 2009

Who can join the VFMA?

At the moment if you are involved with farmers’ markets either in market management or as a stallholder you are eligible to join the VFMA.

In the future the VFMA will be introducing tiers of membership. Full members will be accredited farmers, producers and farmers’ markets and these members will be entitled to display the VFMA logo and receive all benefits.

Another category of membership will be associate members or “Friends of Farmers’ Markets.” If you are interested in becoming a member of the VFMA, but are not currently eligible and would like more information about becoming a “Friend of Farmers’ Markets” once associate membership is available, please contact us and we will advise you once other member tiers are available.

How much does it cost to join the VFMA?

The membership fee, for renewals or new members for the 2009 calendar year, is $99.00 inclusive of GST.
