Di McDonald has been growing rhubarb for more than 16 years. However, her small business has really grown in the eight years she’s been selling her fresh and rhubarb goodies at farmers’ markets.
She produces sweet, red, juicy rhubarb ( a different variety to what you find in backyards) from a plot of land at the Tahbilk Estate winery in Nagambie, Victoria.
The best place to buy the well-known cherry-red rhubarb and treats, including pickles, jams, chutneys, tarts and cakes, is from farmers’ markets in Melbourne every Saturday morning.
