Fairfield Farmers' Market is the next in the expanding circuit of accredited farmers' markets created by Melbourne Community Farmers' Markets, having established Collingwood Childrens Farm, Veg Out St Kilda, Gasworks in Port Melbourne and Slow Food Melbourne at the Abbotsford Convent over the last 10 years.
Fairfield FM will be smaller and more neighbourly than those we've created before. An opportunity for the local community to gather and do their household shopping, bringing Nonna, the kids, the dog and everyone who enjoys natural light and no fine print or marketing hype!
Stallholders attending are farmers of seasonal fruit & vegetables, free range pork, beef, lamb, goat, chooks & eggs, milk straight from the dairy, seedlings, olives & olive oil and nuts. Some you'll know from other markets whilst others are having their first taste of selling direct to their customers and taking credit for their efforts.
In addition to the farmers, there'll be the brekkie stall (using local ingedients sourced direct), coffee (from Eureka with Schulz milk), fresh juices, handmade pastries and chai brewed on the spot. And that's just the beginning...
