Accreditation Paperwork for Farmers & Producers

The Victorian Farmers' Markets Association (VFMA) is calling out for all farmers and producers currently participating in farmers' markets to apply to be accredited under the VFMA Accreditation Program to enable you to be clearly identified as a genuine farmer or producer. 

Accreditation application forms are available below - simply download the application form the most suit your product. Details of each form are as follows: 

  • Stallholder Draft Rules: outlines requirements to meet the Victorian Farmers' Markets Association Accreditation Standards 
  • Key Points: details the VFMA Accreditation Program
  • Producer's Handbook: outlines the VFMA Accreditation process
  • P1: Individual growers of farm based fresh fruit and vegetables. This group will also cover nuts, honey, herbs, plant/flowers and value added produce where the main ingredient is from the makers own farm
  • P2: Individual farmers of farm based meat and dairy produce including eggs, fish and value added produce where the main ingredient is from the makers own farm
  • P3: shared farm stall may be proposed by a group of up to 4 growers from the same region
  • P4: Value-added artisan food and/or drinks product (not  farm based)

Markets Looking for Stallholders

The following new farmers' markets are seeking stallholders. If you are a farmer or producer looking to get involved with farmers' markets or a stallholder already doing markets that is interested in attending more, the following markets might be of interest.

Bendigo Farmers' Market – Starting on 10 April 2010 (2nd Saturday each month). Contact Michelle Martin on 0401 272 376 or info@bcfm.org.au 

Golden Plains Farmers' Market - 1st Sat each month, started December 2009. Looking for more fresh produce stallholders. Contact Rachel Kinscher Visionary events on 5331 8036 or info@visionaryevents.com.au

Hawthorn Farmers’ Market - at Auburn Primary School will be starting from early 2010 and will be a Saturday weekly market. Please contact Brad Matheson on 0417 032 617 or localharvestmarkets@live.com 

Hurstbridge Farmers’ Market - 1st Sunday each month. Contact Michelle Olinder on 0414 703 186. 

Mansfield Farmers' Market – started in September 2009. Looking for fresh fruit and vegies.Contact Allison Walker on 0417319879 or office@mansfieldfarmersmarket.com.au 

Melbourne Showgrounds Farmers’ Market – a Sunday weekly market starting in April 2010. Please contact Simone Gordon on market@vicfarmersmarkets.org.au 

Mt Eliza Farmers' Market - 4th Sunday of the month commencing on Sunday 28th March 2010. Contact Melanie Wigg - melwigg@hotmail.com or phone 0429 398 684

Northcote Farmers’ Market - starting in early 2010 at Merri Park, on St Georges Road, Northcote. It will be a Sunday weekly market – please contact Brad Matheson on 0417 032 617 or localharvestmarkets@live.com 

Sunbury Farmers' Market - starting 13 February 2010 (2nd Saturday each month) is looking for stallholders in particular in meat, plants and flowers and specialty fruit and vegetables. Contact info@inseasonmarkets.com.au or 03 9528 4985. 

University Hill Farmers' Market – 2nd Sat each month, Bundoora, started in November 2009. Contact Erena Norgard on 86812296 or enorgard@mabcorp.com.au

National Conference DVDs for sale!

 The 3rd National Conference DVD is now for sale. The three pack DVD includes footage of all the key speakers at the Conference from both days plus powerpoint presentations. For those who missed the Conference this is the next best thing.  DVD cost $25 for Victorian Farmers' Market Association members or $35 for non members.
